Conservation and Protection Policy Launch

The Minister for Agriculture, Waterways and Environment Hon. Dr. Mahendra Reddy, launched a “Conservation and Protection Policy to protect Fiji’s endangered Iguana Species” on Yaduataba Island to commemorate International Day of Biodiversity 2020.

Fiji’s Department of Environment, describes the Policy as ‘a plan to instill public pride and improve public knowledge on the threats to the endangered iguanas of Fiji, and to priorities the collaboration efforts towards species recovery and management plans for the native Iguana species of Fiji’.
